 Testimonials and Sound Bath Experiences

Nicole’s Yin Yoga Restorative with Sound Healing just keeps getting better and better. The yin poses with healing sound is an incredible journey. She guides me with an internal wisdom that presents me with a new experience and inner exploration each time. I come into the yoga room with the hustle and bustle of the day to be gently brought into another dimension which is done with such compassion and love for where I am upon arrival. The beautifully arranged flowers and presentation of the beautiful bowls set the stage. She carefully present me with poses and options based on how my body is speaking to me and I listen and adjust. I cannot believe how fast the time goes by. I come out of the room at least 2 inches taller than when I arrived and new awareness about myself, my body. Reflecting on the session, I realized how much care she brings to each of these sessions from the ambiance and presentation to the poses, flow and sound. This is a treasure for which I am truly grateful.

Nicole’s guidance through sound, awareness and movement has been restorative and healing both physically and psychologically. Personally, her holistic approach to vinyasa and yin yoga has helped me flow deeper and recover faster. As well as, her direction has helped me bring positivity and gratitude back into my day-to-day life. I am particularly grateful for her attention to her students and spiritual guidance on our individual journeys.

I definitely enjoy the workshops and find the combination of Yin, sound and mediation to be very effective at re-tuning my mind and internal dialogue into a more focused and calm state. Although I find value in both climbing and fitness to de-stress, sessions like this add a holistic element that contributes to overall mental wellness and performance!

The Sound bath workshop was by far my favorite experience. Nic makes such a safe and inviting space that I was able to completely relax and let the sounds wash over me. My favorite part was the tuning forks, they feel so relaxing as they vibrate through your head. Also really loved the length, allowed me to settle, and then really focus on releasing. Cannot recommend the workshop or her classes enough!

Nicole’s Sound bath workshop was an excellent combination of harmony, positions, sounds, time and tones. Nicole’s soothing voice can calm a ravenous dog. Adding the instruments and nothing else matters. Once past the first 10 minutes, my body completely relaxed.

Nicole’s class was an excellent experience in yoga. The environment was very welcoming and comfortable. The musical tones and various sound props created a soothing and relaxing vibe that matched the setting perfectly. Nicole’s voice and mindful messages kept us engaged and grounded to our mats. Looking forward to more in the future.

I can’t tell you enough how much I appreciate Nicole’s Yin yoga. My body and mind has benefited by her nurturing practice with ambience of the quiet and soothing sounds. The longer held poses has helped my muscles remember to relax.

I like Nicole’s Yin Yoga classes but today’s workshop was beyond my imagination. First, it was longer (an hour and a half) which gave us better chance to ground ourselves. Then, she also played different instruments: two sets of well-picked, harmonious combinations of crystal singing bowls, chimes and drum. These additions elevated the experience to a new level. I achieved the best possible point in my pursuit of sakshi bhava (witness mode) during this class. As a result, I would like to think that the yoga community needs more of these workshops.

I first met Nicole through classes she taught in my apartment complex, and quickly followed her to her other locations. Nicole’s bright smile is infectious, and I always leave Nicole’s class in a better mood than when I arrived. Nicole is incredibly open and honest about her own struggles with anxiety and what brings her to the mat, and over the past three years her sharing and reflective approach to what brings us to the mat has helped me grow tremendously in my practice. Nicole opens up her personal life to you, in turn allowing you to feel vulnerable and sit with your own feelings and emotions. Remarkably, she does with as much ease while leading a kick ass power yoga session as in her yin focused and hybrid practices. As an athlete, I will say her power yoga sessions are always a good workout, and every session results in my body feeling looser and my mind calmer. Nicole helped me survive residency at Stanford, and the journey of my practice with her could not be more positive and enjoyable. I now find myself accomplishing poses I remember thinking were impossible, and more importantly, realizing that it is not a competition but a journey of self improvement and motivation. Nicole is the best!

Nicole Dydasco is 100% authentic. The best part of her class is how she connects her own life to the theme she is focusing on. In sharing thoughtfully and vulnerably, she invites her students to reflect themselves and integrate the spiritual with the physical. I have taken Nicole’s vinyasa class for around two years. She has a thoughtful flow that works well for my body, and her sequencing continues to get better and better.

Beyond Nicole’s warm and enthusiastic presence, there are a couple of aspects of Nicole’s practice that I really appreciate.

Nicole’s experience and wisdom really shows through in her sessions. She draws on mutiple yoga traditions to present a challenging yet balanced session.

One example of this balance is that her power vinyasa sessions will have a focus area, like most practices, but Nicole will have a number of poses for that focus followed by a yin shape which will counter balance the focus.

Nicole does not rush through the poses. Nicole encourages a focus on breathing and focused awareness which has helped me flow through her sessions

I also have had private sessions with Nicole. She listens and has many designs and suggestions to draw from. Nicole typically has way more ideas than time will allow, which means that her sessions have many variations and can be tuned to fit a body’s need.

Nicole is enthusiastic, skilled and very dedicated to her art. Nicole is a wonderful resource to deepen your practice or to begin a new path in yoga

Yoga has really helped my son hone in on tight problem areas that can affect his health and performance in baseball. Even after just one session there is a noticeable difference in his flexibility and he always feels better after the sessions. What is most telling about Nicole‘s skill as a yoga instructor is that it is usually hard to get a teen to maintain routines at home. Because of Nicole‘s care in tailoring the yoga session to his problem areas, he feels the benefits and actually wants to continue the exercises at home. She also checks in session to session to see what improvements he is noticing over time so that perspective over time has been helpful. Nicole will check in by email at times which is a caring touch just to make sure if he has any questions about their prior sessions or if he is doing a poses correctly at home.

Nicole’s style of introducing yoga is very reassuring even to a novice. You can tell that she really takes time to pay attention to where the problem areas are by not only speaking to the student but also making observations while the student is performing a yoga pose. She will readjust the pose or add blocks or bolsters to achieve what she wants the student to experience but at his own level. Her style is very comforting and does not create a situation where someone would feel uncomfortable not being able to do a pose which is always appreciated. She not only focuses on the physical aspects of yoga but also the rejuvenating mental aspects as well. It is really tough being a teenager these days and I do feel that my son comes out of these sessions not only more physically refreshed but also mentally so.

We chose individual sessions for my son because his perception of yoga was that the classes would be mostly grown women. He was not necessarily comfortable as a teen boy joining a class because he would have been self-conscious. Because he had seen articles about how baseball players are now using yoga more to help with their physical health in baseball, he was willing to try it because he had had a nagging lower back and hip pain. So we decided on 1:1 sessions. Individual sessions do allow Nicole to tailor the exercises to the student: the 1:1 attention does allow her to hone in on problem areas that are specific to that student alone. Also it is inevitable that a novice will not necessarily perform a yoga pose correctly, so having that 1:1 attention helps to avoid mistakes that could be repeated if not caught during the session. Nicole’s style as a yoga instructor has been so great for my son. She has a down to earth approach that connects with teens well while also teaching him the art and whys of yoga. The 1:1 setting is a personable one and because of that I think that has helped my son embrace yoga because he feels comfortable talking to Nicole and trying new poses that he might not find completely comfortable at first. We feel very lucky that our son was introduced to yoga through Nicole!

Yoga has given me strength, endurance and flexibility that I’ve been able to take from the mat to everyday life. I had the pleasure of being Nicole’s student at Bay Club and I fell in love with her class. It doesn’t matter if you’re new to yoga or an expert yogi, she makes you feel safe. Nicole has helped my progress in my practice and I’m very grateful to have her as a teacher. You will feel amazing after her class.

For me, Nicole leads our Yoga practices incorporating breathing, the mind (what surfaces in our thoughts) and body. Each week we either build on the prior weeks practice or we expand to explore a new experience. She leads us gently, thoughtfully while inviting us to expand our boundaries. If you are new or a returnee to Yoga Nicole provides options tayloring your practice to meet your needs. I look forward to her classes and always feel so wonderful afterwards.

In class Nicole places emphasis on breathing, something we tend to forget/ not do properly as we proceed with the different positions.
I also enjoy having the background music that helps me focus. I appreciated how Nicole tells you about the different alternative positions we can do depending on our level and body conditions (such as pregnancy).
Yoga has helped me gain flexibility, relax my stiff muscles, and it also made me pay more attention to my posture. I also like that I’ve been able to do it while pregnant as I can adapt to the changes of my body.

I started going to Nicole’s yoga class because my wife wanted to try it out, but I kept going even when my wife was busy because Nicole made yoga fun and accessible for both beginners (where I started) and experts (like several others in the class). She cheerfully answered my many questions along the way and ultimately inspired me to do my own yoga teacher training

At first i didn’t think much about yoga and always assumed it was for older Indian people, but after starting yoga due to a lower back problem it has been such an humbling experience.
Nicole’s yoga classes helped me to forget the fact that I live in the Bay Area, and seeing her calm smiling self at the start of each class is an added bonus. Her class has the right mixture of flow and holding poses. I love how even though she takes our practice passionately, she allows the students to have fun.

Nicole has the most gentle calm voice, I love how she combines vinyasa and restorative, by the time class ends my mind and body and heart feel centered and connected. She is a true Light!
